CRAWFORD REED MARTIN Reed Martin was bornAugust 23, 1940 andDied September 24, 2010.Reed is survived by his daughter, Amanda Martin of Houston, his son; Darin Fennell, his wife, Tonya and children, Savannah, Schuyler and Sinclaire of Dallas; his sister in-law, Carole Martin; and two former wives, Judy Parkinson and Darlene Martin. Reed was pre-deceased by his parents, Margaret Reed Martin and Morgan Martin, Sr., and by his sister, Ellen Martin and his brother, Morgan Martin, Jr. He graduated Rice University in 1962 and the University of Texas School of Law in 1966, where he was a member of the Law Review.He was a legislative assistant to U.S. Senator Yarborough, who chaired the education subcommittee, worked at the Urban Institute, Washington, D.C. and Advocacy, Inc., Austin, Texas. He focused his legal career working to improve the rights of developmentally disabled children. Reed was a consultant, speaker and workshop presenter around the U.S. and he authored several books. Reed practiced law in Texas for 22 years, working with countless families, and was a consultant in Morgantown, West Virginia for ten years.A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 9 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Philip Presbyterian Church, 4807 San Felipe, Houston, TX 77056
