Frank Edward Caddy

FRANK EDWARD CADDY, 93, passed away March 26 in Houston, Texas. Born on June 7, 1908 in Denver, Colorado, to Herbert and Anna (Carberry) Caddy. Frank was a remarkable and unique individual who rose from humble beginnings to achieve extraordinary things. Frank grew up in Colorado, Nebraska and Wyoming. He obtained a scholarship at Stanford University and graduated in 1931. In 1932 he married Tobitha "Tobie" Miles, a marriage that lasted 62years until her death in 1994. They had five children. Frank worked for Shell Chemical Corporation from the time of his graduation until his retirement. He was General Manager of Shell refineries in Martinez, California, Norco, Louisiana, and Houston, Texas. An avid angler, Frank's passion was fly fishing and after retirement he spent summers at his home in Driggs, Idaho, fishing and entertaining friends and family. Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Tobie, his sisters, Helen Allman and Agnes Williams, and his grandson, Michael Scott Sims. He is survived by his children, Terry Miles Caddy and wife Marjorie, Newtown, PA, Nina Patricia Sims, Bozeman, MT, Michael Douglas Caddy, Houston, TX, Kathleen Ann Hare, Nevada City, CA, David Gray Caddy and wife Huyen, Houston, TX, and Margaret Caddy, "adopted" daughter, as well as, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, five nieces and three nephews. As was his wish, his remains were cremated. A Celebration of Life of Frank Caddy will be held at a later date.
