Jack Melvin Williamson, age 78, died on Tuesday, March 11, in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He was a well-known architect in and around South Jersey, having done numerous new construction projects and major restorations in historic Haddonfield, New Jersey. He was born in Houston on February 27, 1936 and was a 1954 graduate of Lamar High School, and later from the University of Houston, and Yale University. He was preceded in death by his parents William Carey and Ruth Williamson of Houston, and brother Carey Williamson of Tyler. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Joyce Haney of Cherry Hill, son Matthew Williamson of New York City, daughter Nicole Ventrella and husband Lucio of Haddonfield, NJ; grandchildren Luca and Ava Ventrella; brother James (Jim) Williamson and wife Ann of Pearland, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends. There will be a memorial service in Haddonfield at a future date.
