John Rahlfs Obituary
1946-2019
John William Rahlfs, Jr. of Kingwood, Texas died on January 19, 2019 at his home. John was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Rahlfs, Sr., and was born in San Angelo, Texas on February 15, 1946.
The family moved to Midland, Texas in 1950 where John attended Midland public schools. After graduating from Midland High School, he entered the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. He transferred to the University of Texas in Austin, Texas where he graduated with a degree in Business Administration. After several years he returned to The University of Texas and earned an MBA degree.
John was predeceased by his father, John W. Rahlfs, Sr. He is survived by his wife Linda; stepdaughters Lindy Whitley of Los Angeles, California, Dorian York and her husband Brian York of Kingwood; daughter Carrie Brill of Friendswood, Texas; mother Vina Rahlfs of Bessemer, Alabama. And by his brother, Thomas F. Rahlfs, MD, his wife Laura Rahlfs and their daughter Megan Rahlfs of Houston, Texas. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Joshua, Kate and Piper York, and Tyler and Travis Brill.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in John's name to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
