Rey, such wonderful everlasting memories as we see all these photos. Each photo reminds us of that particular day and we laugh at all the funny things you did. There is not a day that goes by without us thinking of you and still wonder why it happened. Rey, Julian will be four next month and we will again miss your presence. Rey, we love you and miss you but know you are our angel watching over all of us.
Love always,

Well Tio its been a whole year since you left us and we miss you terribly. There will always be an empty place in my heart that only you could fill. I make sure everyday that Julian knows who his Tio Rey is being that we lost you so early in his life. I want him to know what a wonderful man you were and how truly honored I was to have you. Grandpa is getting better he can talk about the good times together and not get choked up. You should know that your granddaughter is beautiful and she has full cheeks just like you, but I know you watch over us everday so you know what I mean. Its hard not having you around to make us laugh we had such fun times together. I am blessed to have the memories you have given me and I will always have them to give me a lift when the times get hard. I will always remember the advice you gave me and Tio I went to see 1964 the beatles. I sent my mom and dad to see them Dec. 4 The Fab Four and my parents were blown away, of course the whole night my dad said you were on his mind, and that he missed you. My next goal is to see the Beatles Love Cirque Solei since I know it was something you really wanted to do, so when I go I will take you with me in spirit. I love you Tio so much and I carry you in my heart everyday.
Love Always and Forever Your Niece Vanessa.

Laurie, Megan, Masson, and Rey's family, I cannot imagine the sadness you must feel every day without Rey. Please know that you and Rey are in my prayers every day.

October 27, 2010

Last week would have been 27 years together, and as I sit and remember life with Rey I have to laugh. He believed that life should be fun and full of laughter so he always did his best to keep us "rollin". I miss his smiling face and will always remember to live a "fun" life. I will always love him and pray for those who hurt as I do for missing him so much. The kids and I love you and miss you Rey! Your loving wife.

Hi Tio,

There are not enough words to express how much I love you and miss you. As an uncle, well what can I say you were always the epitomy of an uncle. When I was little you always took care of me and when I would spend the summers in Spring you always took the time to make sure I had a great time. Thank you for treating me like your own daughter and for always loving me. My mom told me that when I was born you were so excited and that you flew in from Dallas to see me. I can't tell you how blessed I was for God allowed me to have been at your bedside holding your hand and giving you kisses, that is a memorie that I will keep in my heart for all enternity. To my Tia Laurie I love you like a mother and thank you for always being there to guide me and to love me. Meggy, Mase I love you and just remember that you are never alone, you have a family that loves you so much.

Love your niece,

I am very sad about this news. Rey was a great friend who gave me some valuable insights into Mexican and American ways of thinking when I stayed with the Rodriguez family on Carlisle in 1972.
My wish that a business trip to Germany will allow him to visit my home can unfortunately no longer come true.
I will pray that Rey's family finds enough strength to bear the sorrow of his loss.

To my sister-in-law Laurie, Rey was a great husband and loved you and Megan and Masson so very much. He was a great brother-in-law but I cared for him like my brother. I will always miss him because his passing has left a void in my heart. I think of him and it just does not feel right that he is no longer with us. I have so many fond memories of him after knowing him for 35 years. I have made a Christmas ornament with his picture and every Christmas it will be one of our ornaments on our tree as a loving memory of him. His memory will always live in our hearts. I know you know how much we loved him and that our sympathy is with you and the kids.
Love always,

I met Rey in 2001, when I started working for Compaq. Since then we became best friends and we shared many good times during work and after work hours. He was a great leader, boss and my best friend.

Rey was a great guy, I first met him in San Antonio in 1989 while working for Businessland. Rey brought in a bag of breakfast taco's the first day and shared them with us. To the famiy of Rey. Rey worked with my x for over ten years and knew much about my life. I however met him for the first time when he came to 3rd shift at HP. Never before has a person endeared themself to my heart and to so many others as he did in such a short time. He spoke often of his family and smiled alot when he did. A man who was devoted to his wife and family and spoke often of them. No one can say a bad thing about him as he was such a good man. Although he is gone, our worlds are brighter just to have had him in them. You are all in my prayers.

Rey will be truely missed. He was more than just my manager, his positive influence about life helped me many times. He was my friend. Laurie, Rey loved you very much. Megan, you were the apple of his eyes, always talked about your beautiful voice, how awesome you sing, your accomplishments in your studies. Showed us several video of your performances, and Mason, he was so proud of you... for being such a great son and becoming a Marine. His chest seemed to pop out when he would show us pictures and share with us stories about your boot camp. He loved his family! Thank you Rey for being such a wonderful person, manager, and friend. To Laurie and the kids,
Always quiet and watching, Rey was his kids' greatest fan. From swimming, to baseball, then football and eventually choir and band. Every kid should have parents like Rey and Laurie. Our hearts hurt for you in this time of sadness, but we all know this life is temporary. I will always remember Rey being an advocate for any kid, whether they were as successful as they wanted to be or not, always with a kind word and a smile to let that child know that someone was watching and cheering them on. Words can only express our heartfelt sympathies that God keeps you in his arms during your grief. We hurt deeply for you...
