Donna,

I just found out today about Leslie's going home to be with the Lord in December. I am so sorry that I did not know about it til now. I don't know if you remember, but my wife (Pam)and our kids were at Cypress Bible Church for many years and served on the Fellowship Committee with you guys. I have fond memories of both of you and remember Les very well. I will be praying for you and your family. May God continue to give you the grace that only He can give.

I was so terribly saddened by the news of Mr. Davis' death. I always felt that I knew him more than the relationship we had. He was always an overcomer and one that I looked up to. I believe that he has made other people much better by knowing him.

I am so sorry and I pray that God gives you all much strength.

I am very saddened to here of Leslie's death. I keep remembering growing up across the street from his wonderful parents. I remember the birthdays and all the other celebrations we all shared together. My mother and Dona have been very close friends for many years which makes us all family. Leslie was truly a memorable person, with the never ending smile and caring personality. He will surely be missed.
Please remember that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you and that I love each of you.
He is in the arms of our Lord now and will be waiting for the rest of us.

Dona and Family:
We were very shocked to hear the news of Leslie's passing. We loved having you guys as neighbors on Serendipity. We have missed ya'll since you had moved, especially during Christmas. Seeing your house all done up in lights. The kids just loved it.

God Bless you and your family.

As a former graduate with both Dona and Leslie I wanted to extend my prayers to your family as you are going thru this loss. You guys were married a long time and have so many memories to carry you thru till you are reunited in Heaven the same as I will with my husband. My husband was so proud of our country and was color blind and couldn't serve in the military but he was always proud of those who did. I can see him at Heaven's gate with a salute for Leslie. God bless each of you today and always.

Angie, Dona, and Family -

I'm always amazed at the strength that is shown by those left behind who are believers. You all are no exeception. I can't imagine where we would be without our faith. I pray, as many others, that your faith will continue to strengthen you and comfort you now and for years to come.

Mrs. Davis-
Please accept my deepest sympathy for the passing of Leslie. I was his supervisor in the quality department here in Iraq. When I first met Leslie in July, we really hit it off. His smile and joking ability was a welcome sight considering the conditions we are working in. One thing that can be said of him, he was a true and loyal Texan. You were either Boss or Bubba, but you knew it was his way of expressing friendship. He was proud to be from Texas. I am from North Carolina and married to a Texan, so we had some common bonds. Leslie proved to be an experienced quality man and enhanced our department greatly. His loss to this department will be felt for some time to come. Please know that all of us here extent our thoughts and prayers to you during this difficult time.

I was so sad to hear of Leslie’s passing. I too, with the news, began to recount days of younger years. Those memories are endless and priceless. However, I wanted to take this moment to thank you Dona, you were always Leslie’s rock and you supported his decision to go to Iraq. I’m sure it didn’t come lightly for either of you. He was a hero and you were always his support. God bless you and your family, may your strength continue.

I grew up across the street from the Davis family on Forest Valley. I spent most of my childhood riding bikes, playing in the woods, etc. with Lyndon and Alyssa. My heart goes out to all of you, Mrs. Davis, Angela, Lynna, Angela, and Lyndon. Mr. Davis was a VERY fine man and a patriot. Our prayers are with all of you.

Dona, Mr. and Mrs. Davis, Glenda and Brenda,

No one will ever know ALL the emotions you all are feeling right now. The what ,if's, the why did this happen... to he was doing what he loved to do...help others.

I did not have the oppurtunity after we all got out of school for our paths to cross but, talking to Glenda she was always so proud of Leslie and Dona and their children. Not too many conversations went by without a wonderful recap of the busy family and their close gatherings. Thank God for family, friends and God.
Leslie had all of this and touched more peoples lives than anyone will ever know. Take solitude in the fact he had said he was not scared but worried about the young soldiers. He was strong in his feelings and faith and imagine how he helped the young men serving our country. Leslie MADE a difference. There are probably soldiers there that Leslie touched and changed their lives forever.

Stay strong for each other and the grandkids. Keep Leslie in their lives forever with his stories and his wonderful sense of humor there are lots of sweet memories to pass on to the next generation.

Leslie will be with each of you forever, just in a special way now.

God be with you all and there are loads of prayers being said for ya'll. You are all loved very much.

Dear Donna,

I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Leslie's death. I have many memories of your whole family on trips to the beach, New Braunsfels, and on the lake. You know your mom was my best friend, my travelling buddy, and my confidant. I know she will be waiting, with God, for Leslie - he will be in good hands. My illness will prevent me from coming to the funeral, but my thoughts and prayers will be with you and the family.

Love to each of you,

I wanted to share this with you... I have kept it by my computer for years now and find it to be very comforting at times. Wish I knew the author but I don't.

The Everlasting Light...

Those we love
must some day pass
beyond our present sight...
must leave us
and the world we know
without their radiant light.
But we know that like a candle their lovely light will shine
to brighten up another place
more perfect...more divine.
And in the realm of Heaven
where they shine
so warm and bright,
our loved ones live FOREVERMORE
in God's ETERNAL light.

Peace be with you and the kids at such a difficult time...we're here if you need us in ANY way.

Am so VERY sorry to hear about Leslie. Was shocked and saddened when I saw his picture on TV and heard the awful news. Though it's been awhile...we truly always enjoyed being around y'all. Leslie was such a sweetie and y'all were so cute together Dona. I remember you taking me under your wing when we were working together at Cy-Fair and I was new there and also playing volleyball at the school with the guys and the kiddos in the gym. Y'all even got us hooked on Cypress Bible Church many moons ago. Y'all were BOTH such positive role models for your kids and even co-workers and you could tell how close your family was just by watching you all when you were together. I know it doesn't ease the pain but I wanted you to know that Leslie got his wings the exact day my mother did (14 yrs. ago). They are in good company and at peace and watching down on y'all. If there is ANYTHING that we can do PLEASE do not hesitate to call or email. We love y'all and again are so VERY sorry.
