Margaret Grigsby Obituary

MARGARET E. GRIGSBY, MD, FACP Departed this life on June 24, 2009 at Howard University Hospital, Washington, DC. Dr. Grigsby was a professor of medicine at Howard University College of Medicine. She established the first Infectious Disease Section of the Department of Medicine at Howard and served as its chief from 1952 to 1971. Friends may call at McCoy & Harrison Funeral Home, 4918 Martin Luther King Blvd., Houston, TX 77021 on Wednesday, July 15, from 11:00am - 12:30pm. Burial will be private.

Margaret Grigsby, M.D., esteemed Master of the American College of Physician was my Teacher and my Friend. We met in 1959 when I was her Interne and remained close until I retired in 2003. She was a great trail blazing woman with superior intellect. I will never forget her.
