I have been a friend of Wayne's for many years and was saddened to hear of his passing. I am sorry I missed the funeral however I did not know in time to come in from Bryan. Wayne was always looking for new ways to bring new players to the bridge world. We laughed, cried and shared jokes together. He will be missed.

I talked to Wayne at the August Sectional and there was a resigned, peaceful quality about him. We talked about his mother, Lois, whom I've known for years. "She has been so good to me," he said.

I'm overwhelmed with mother-to-mother sadness for Lois, who lost her beautiful and sensitive child.
