William Stanton McDonald
1964-2017
William Stanton McDonald (Stan) passed away Sat. September 30, 2017 in Austin, TX surrounded by loving family members. He was born on Oct. 8, 1964 in Houston, TX. to William J. McDonald and Brenda Mitchell McDonald. Stan loved sports: starting at age 5 playing basketball in church and YMCA leagues, and Varsity High School. as well as Little League throughout all his school years. In later years he would serve as little league coach and commissioner. He was also a Boy Scout. Stan was a graduate of Memorial High School, class of '83.
Stan was a die-hard University of Texas fan, and a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He became a successful Independent Petroleum Geologist, yet he kept that zest for the outdoors: hunting, fishing (custom orange bay boat "Hook-um.") , Competition Shooting, Skiing in the Rockies and Traveling that led to new outdoor challenges, especially those including his wife Kelly and their two sons Stanton and Hunter.
Stan is survived by his wife of 21 years, Kelly Timberlake Lamb; his parents, Dr. and Mrs. William J. McDonald, sister Jessica J. McDonald, and his sons William Stanton McDonald Jr. and Hunter Timberlake McDonald. and many dear friends.
Stan recently fought and lost a brief battle with cancer and concurrently a rare autoimmune condition, Dermatomyositis.

Funeral services will be Oct. 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at
Shepherd of the Hills
