"God has smiled on me, He has set me free, God has smiled on me, He's been good to me" Sunrise: 10-24-1936 Sunset: 1-2-2003 WILLIE M. JOHNSON, 66, passed from this life into eternity on January 2, 2003. Willie lived a fulfilling life, which included his job and his family. He served in the United States Navy and was a dedicated law enforcement officer. Willie also taught in the Houston Community College System and retired from the Houston Police Department. Willie was also a member of the Texas Peace Officers Association and a loyal member of the Greater Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. He leaves to cherish his home going, his wife Evelyn, 2 sons, 2 daughters, 1 daughter-in-law Pamela, 8 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and 2 sisters. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, January 8, 2003 from 7p.m-9p.m. at the Greater Mt. Zion Church, 835 West 23rd Street, Houston, TX 77008. Funeral service Thursday, January 9, 2003, at 11a.m. Rev. D. L. Joseph, Officiating. Greater Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 835 West 23rd Street, Houston, TX 77004. Interment, Houston National Cemetery.
