Robert Sigal Obituary

Robert Charles Sigal
1998-2017
Robert Charles Sigal, age 19, was born on the 27th of January 1998, in Greenwich, Connecticut, to Mary-Charles Davis and Peter Sigal, and passed away Monday, the 23rd of October 2017, in Austin, Texas. Robert was first and foremost a cherished son, brother, grandson, cousin, nephew, friend to all that knew him and a bright light in our world. We are blessed with the memory of his kindness and sweet spirit.
A University of Texas sophomore, Robert was a 2016 graduate of Episcopal High School, Bellaire, Texas, and was employed as an AppleWorks Support Specialist. Robert served as Student Body President at Episcopal and was a talented performer both on and off of the stage. Robert had a keen business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit. He was passionate about his service on the Houston Mayor's Youth Council and his commitment to vulnerable children in Harris County.
Robert is survived by his loving parents, Mary-Charles Davis of Houston, and Peter Sigal of Dallas; his devoted sister, Mary-Bennett Hall Sigal; step-father, Jay Davis; maternal grandparents, Charlann and Jim Wombles of Lexington, Kentucky; paternal grandmother, Lorene Sigal of Fairhope, Alabama; step-grandmother, Melissa Davis of Houston; siblings, JJ Davis of Newport Beach, California, Matt Davis, and wife, Jill, of Houston, Holly Bebout, and husband, Steve, of New York City; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Robert was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Albert E. Sigal, Junior, of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and step-grandfather, Charles "Chuck" Davis, Junior, of Houston. Those who knew Robert know that he considered his countless friends as part of his larger family.
A celebration of Robert's life will be held at eleven o'clock in the morning on Saturday, the 28th of October, in the sanctuary of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 3471 Westheimer Road in Houston. Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception to be held in the Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions may be directed toward Child Advocates, Inc. of Houston, 3701 Kirby Dr., Ste. 400, Houston, TX 77098.
Robert was a shining presence in the world, and we feel blessed to have been witness to his joy and his amazing spirit.

Dear Sigal Family,
I am very sorry to hear about Robert's passing. He was in my class last Fall and I knew that he was a STAR from the first day. His maturity, insight, and passion was evident in all of his interactions with the class and I know that he is deeply missed here, there, everywhere.

Pete and Mary-Charles: We are heartbroken about you losing Robert.
Pete, I think of you as a brother and I can't imagine the grief that you are feeling. The grief will fade, but 19 years of wonderful memories will remain. You are in our thoughts.

Jay & Mary Charles: I am SO SO sorry to learn of your and your families loss. The loss of a child is probably as tough as anything a parent can ever go thought. Been there done that. I wish that I could be at the service but I have a funeral I am committed to in Austin at the same time. May God hold you in this difficult time. TUNA
