William Davis "Bill" Kvinta
1935-2018
William Davis "Bill" Kvinta, 83, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018. He was born August 16, 1935 in Yoakum to the late John and Emily (Strauss) Kvinta.
Bill played football at Yoakum High School when the Bulldogs were state finalists in 1952. He went on to University of Texas and lived at Oak Grove Co-Op. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in April 1957 and was sent to Fort Carson, Colorado for basic training, then onto Fort Ord , CA and completed his service at Fort Bragg, North Carolina in April 1960. Bill was a Real Estate Appraiser in Houston, Texas for 58 years. He earned the MAI and SRA designation. He was past President of the Houston Chapters of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers and American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers, which have merged to become the Appraisal Institute. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and former member of Spring Branch Lion's Club. He had great fondness and provided support from the beginning for the children of Bluebonnet Youth Ranch. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Houston and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Yoakum.
Survivors are his wife of 59 years, Hattie (Brenek) Kvinta; sons, Bill Jr. and wife Anna-Maria and Tom and wife Debra and Stephen and wife Jennifer; daughter, Kyleen and husband Arthur Piejko; grandchildren, Amanda, Mary, Michael, Rachel, William and Alexis; sister, Emily Polasek; sisters-in-law, Germaine Kvinta and Margie Kvinta; numerous nieces and nephews and co-worker, Katherine Alvarez.
Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John Kvinta, Jr. and Charles Kvinta.
Visitation to begin at 9 a.m., Saturday, August 25, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Yoakum with Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11 a.m., with Rev. Matthew Huehlefeld officiating. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Bluebonnet Youth Ranch 4652 US Hwy 77A South, Yoakum, Texas, 77995.
Pallbearers are Tom Edmonds, Ted Polasek, John Kvinta, Chris Kvinta, Michael Piejko and William Piejko.
Honorary Pallbearers are Bill Harry, Jim Rohde, Dan Orndorff, Paul Kvinta, Charles Kvinta, Ken Kvinta and Henry Harrison.
