Risch, Ethel O.

Ethel O. Risch age 93, of 4613 Menasha Ave. Manitowoc, died Tuesday evening, March 12, 2013 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center with her family at her side.

The former Ethel Bleser was born on November 29, 1919 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Walter and Rose (Karbon) Bleser. She was a 1936 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School and attended the Manitowoc Business College. On February 22, 1941 Ethel was married to Paul H. Risch at Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Paul preceded her in death on March 9, 1988. Ethel began her working career at Sorge Dairy from 1936-1939 and First National Bank from 1939-1941. Following her marriage she worked for the Manitowoc County Mutual Insurance Company and with her husband, Paul owned and operated their own insurance agency until her retirement in 1987. Ethel was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and the St. Clare Society. Ethel enjoyed playing cards with her friends at the Manitowoc Senior Center.

Survivors include her three children and their spouses: Donald W. (Kathleen) Risch, Manitowoc; Paul T. (Diane) Risch, Manitowoc; Barbara (Terry) Warden, Manitowoc; five grandchildren: Nicole (Patrick) Sullivan, Oshkosh; Jeffrey (Nicole) Risch, Manitowoc; Cassie Risch, Madison; Dr. Melissa (Shawn) Pronold, San Francisco, CA; Ross Warden, Manitowoc; five great grandchildren: Ethan Risch, Ellisen Risch, Eden Risch, Emerson Risch, and Primrose Pronold. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents: Walter and Rose Bleser; and her husband: Paul H. Risch.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi, Waldo site. The Rev. William Van Dynhoven and Rev. Gerald Foley will concelebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with entombment in the Knollwood Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is assisting the Risch family with funeral arrangements.
