Shirley Wolff (79), formerly from Two Rivers, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, in Lake Geneva, WI.

She was born on Oct. 13, 1933, at the home of her parents, Herbert and Ella (nee Naser) Hermann in the town of Carlton, Kewaunee, WI. She attended Sandy Bay Lutheran grade school and lived on the family dairy farm with her brother, John, and sister, Marie.

In 1951, she graduated from Kewaunee High School, the valedictorian of her class. After high school, she attended University Wisconsin-Whitewater and married Arnold Wolff on Nov. 27, 1955, in Kewaunee. They moved to Two Rivers, WI, where they raised four children, Roger (Lake Geneva), Ronald (deceased), Russell (Oshkosh) and Wendy (Lake Geneva).

She had nine grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. Adam, Kirk and Cari Wolff (children of Roger and Chace Wolff), Courtney Wolff, Shawn Strathman and Bradley Langman (children and step-children of Ron and Lori Wolff), Nicholas, Daniel, Megan, Rebecca and Allison Wolff (children of Russ and Laura Wolff), Crystal and Christopher Martin (children of Wendy and David Martin).

Shirley was an avid musician playing the French horn and piano and was a member of the Manitowoc Civic Orchestra and Lake Geneva Civic Orchestra. She also loved to sing, and was a member at First Lutheran Church in Lake Geneva, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son (Ronald) and her brother and sister. The funeral will be held on Saturday, Jan. 26, at First Lutheran Church in Lake Geneva, officiated by Pastor Mark Kaesmeyer. There will be a visitation at the church from 9 to 11 a.m. with the funeral service at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a memorial to Christian Partners Foundation, 751 Geneva Parkway Blvd., Lake Geneva, WI 53147, a local charity supported by the Wolff family that provides care for people with developmental disabilities in Kenya.

Good Bye good friend and cousin. We were together all of our lives. First neighbors, then school buddies for 12 years. Then we both moved to Two Rivers, back in 1958 or 1960. We were in band together in High School. Always near. I hope you are happy in our Lord's arms.

So sorry for your loss! Shirley was a dear friend and my mentor when it came to the french horn. In fact, as I was never able to own my own french horn, she was gracious to always allow me to use hers. I cherish those times in the Two Rivers City Band. I think of her whenever I play. She always had a smile on her face. She is still smiling, and now with our Lord in heaven!
