Schoepke, Allen L.

Allen L. Schoepke, age 80, a Manitowoc residence, died peacefully early Saturday morning, April 6, 2013 surrounded by his family at his residence.

Allen was born on December 13, 1932, in Manitowoc, son of the late Lloyd and Beatrice (Machia) Schoepke. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the class of 1951. Allen joined the U.S. Air Force on January 6, 1952, where he was stationed in California and served in Tuhle, Greenland. He was a member of the 320th Bomb Wing as a Staff Sargent until being honorably discharged in December 1955. On June 13, 1953 he married Audrey Willert at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. After 53 years of marriage, Audrey preceded him in death on September 27, 2006. Allen started his employment with the Mirro Company in 1956, where he worked as a data processor. He retired from Mirro on February 17, 1995, as an assistant manager in the data processing department. Allen was a member of the Golden K Kiwanis, Friends of the Branch River, Loners on Wheels Camping Association, Wisingles Camping Club as well as the Manitowoc County Civil War Roundtable. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his family.

Allen is survived by his three daughters and sons-in-law: Terry and Wayne Huske, Whitelaw; Linda and Peter Wagner, Kiel; Susan and Frank LaPlante, Manitowoc; five grandchildren: Barrett Koralewsky, Nicholas (Lacey) Wagner, Stephanie (Matt) Harms, Christopher Hill and Lucas Hill; six step grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; three nephews: Tony Schoepke, Daniel Schoepke and Ross Schoepke. Allen is further survived by a special friend: Elaine Nelson, other relatives and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Lloyd and Beatrice Schoepke; his wife: Audrey; his brother: Gerald Schoepke.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Deacon Alan Boeldt, with burial at Evergreen Cemetery. Military grave side rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 88 immediately following the services at the funeral home.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. at the Pfeffer Funeral Home. The visitation will continue from 9:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Allen's name.
