Carol A. Johnson, age 67, of Manitowoc entered eternal life on Friday, November 2, 2012, at St. Mary's Nursing Home, Manitowoc after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Carol was born on April 1, 1945 in Manitowoc. She was the daughter of Margaret (Schwoerer) Stemper and the late Alvin Stemper. She attended Lincoln High School and graduated in 1963.

Carol married her best friend and soul mate Jack Johnson on February 1, 1969. Carol worked in the factory and then the office at Mirro until 1974 when she became a loving stay at home mom to their two sons. In 1982 Carol returned to working outside the home as a Teller at Associated Bank. She was later promoted as a Personal Banker. She worked at Associated Bank for 23 years until her retirement in 2005. Carol enjoyed working with her co-workers and customers.

Carol was passionate about gardening and was part of Manitowoc Garden Club for many years before her illness. She also participated on a bowling league and a golf team. After her retirement, she volunteered at Holy Family Memorial Hospital working in the coffee shop. More recently, she enjoyed traveling with her husband.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jack; two children: Craig (Betsy) Johnson, Manitowoc, Wis; Todd Johnson, Pascagoula, Miss; her mother: Margaret Stemper, Manitowoc, Wis; three brothers: Gerald (Judy) Stemper, Fond du Lac, Wis; Ken (Debbie) Stemper, Cleveland, Wis; Peter (Terry) Stemper, Manitowoc, Wis; two sisters: Diane (Wayne) Schuette, Cleveland, Wis; Marilyn (Greg) Martell, Manitowoc, Wis; and two sister-in-laws: Rita Johnson, Ocean Springs, Miss; Pat (Dale) Aulik, Manitowoc, Wis; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her father: Alvin Stemper, one brother: Daniel Stemper, her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Harry and Adeline Johnson, and three brother-in-laws: James Johnson, Ronald Johnson and Daniel Demler.

Funeral services will be held at Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. Deacon Al Boeldt will be officiating.
