Skarvan, Eugene

Eugene Skarvan, age 83, of 110 E. Samz Road, Mishicot, died on Sunday afternoon, March 30, 2014, at his residence.

Eugene was born December 13, 1930, in the Town of Carlton in Kewaunee County, son of the late Wenzil and Theresa (Wettering) Skarvan. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict as a tank mechanic. Eugene was a farm implement mechanic for 12 years and then moved on to a forklift dealership where he was a mechanic for almost 30 years, retiring in 1996. He was a volunteer for the Town of Two Rivers Fire Department for 25 years, was a member of the Town of Two Rivers Board for 30 years and was Vice President and President of the Mishicot Area Ambulance Service Board of Directors. He enjoyed traveling up North.

He will be sadly missed by his fiancee: Marjorie Freiberg, Mishicot; his children and their spouses: Jill Aremband, TX; Jolene Kopetsky and friend Pete Walkner, Two Rivers; Barbara and Michael Morris, Mishicot; five grandchildren: Lisa Aremband, Jody Aremband, Jamie Vanne, Justin Morris, Sarah Thornton; four great grandchildren: Brianne Vanne, Baleigh Vanne, Savannah Thornton, Isabelle Thornton; three brothers and two sisters-in-law: Norbert Skarvan, Green Bay; Virgil Skarvan, Kewanuee; David and Anita Skarvan, Two Rivers; and Carol Skarvan, Kewaunee. Eugene is further survived by his former wife, Marie. Nieces, nephews other relatives and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law: Marie and Glenn Kunish; one brother, Kenneth Skarvan; two sisters-in-law: Georgine Skarvan, and Janice Skarvan.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2014, at Klein & Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be Rev. Kim Henning. Military Honors will be accorded by the Two Rivers V.F.W. and American Legion following the service.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, April 4, 2014, at Klein & Stangel Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
