JonMarc S. Erlemeier Obituary
Erlemeier, JonMarc S.

JonMarc Steven Erlemeier completed this lifetime and entered Eternal Life on April 11, 2014. He passed away suddenly in Manitowoc, WI, where he had been living with his father while battling a severe physical illness.

JonMarc was born on January 15, 1988 in New Orleans, LA. As a baby he listened to jazz with his family in the French Quarter. He travelled with his family to New Ulm, MN to explore some of his German heritage.

The family relocated to Duluth, MN where he spent his happiest years in the woods growing up among beautiful natural surroundings. He attended St. Michael's Lakeside School. He was a violin student of the Suzuki method which trained his ear to music. He loved to sing and sang with a pitch-perfect bass-tenor voice in the elite choral group, the Marshall Top Six. He graduated from Marshall College Preparatory School in 2006. Through his early years he always loved the great outdoors of northern Minnesota. He loved sports and participated in hockey, basketball, soccer, baseball and skiing.

He attended college for a few years at the University of North Dakota and the University of Minnesota. He then reconnected with his southern family and lived in Monroe, LA for a time before settling in Seattle, WA.

Always an avid reader, JonMarc explored all topics. He loved his adult life in Seattle where he participated in the opening of a coffee shop and home catering. He built a strong community of many great friends. JonMarc warmed the lives of total strangers. He discovered much from observing people and animals. He participated in as many festivals, such as the Oregon Country Festival, as possible. He enjoyed visiting his close family in MN, WI and LA. He loved to travel.

JonMarc had always expressed a movie quote "When they ask how I died; tell them how I lived." He would want to be remembered for how he touched your life.

He is survived by his father, Dr. Steven Erlemeier of Manitowoc, WI; mother, Dr. Susan Baum Erlemeier of Monroe, LA; sister, Julie of Seattle WA; brother, Matthew of Monroe, La; maternal grandparents Dr. Larry Baum and Dee Baum of Monroe, LA; Uncles and Aunts Steve Baum and Jennifer of Lafayette, LA Laura Rogers of Tyler Texas, Jim Erlemeier of Duluth, MN; Kathy and Craig Hoffmeier of Durham, NC and Lorie and Dan Cooper of New Market, MD. His cousins include Michael and Ben Baum; Kate and Nate Hoffmeier; Chad and Emily Erlemeier and Morgan, Bailey and Trent Rogers. He leaves behind a large extended family and many dear friends. He will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday April 19th at the Silver Lake College Endries Hall of the Franciscan Music Center in Manitowoc; a community memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements. Online condolences can be expressed at www.jensreinboldandpfeffer.com Memorials may be made to Marshall High School for a Safe Harbor Scholarship Fund in Duluth, MN. More in tune with his nature he would simply ask that you give generously to the person (or charity) of your choice in honor of JonMarc Steven Erlemeier.
