Lynn Jacobs Obituary

Jacobs, Lynn B.

Lynn B. Jacobs, age 73, of Manitowoc, died on Monday, November 20, 2017 at Aurora Medical Center of Manitowoc County.

Lynn was born March 11, 1944, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Bernard and Helen (Barufman) Schwartz. She was a 1962 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School and received her Bachelor's Degree in social work from the University of Denver. On September 4, 1966 she married Philip Jacobs in Mishicot.

Lynn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a fierce friend. She enjoyed helping people both in her personal and professional life; working as a social worker for Job Service in Manitowoc for many years and devoting countless hours to various community organizations. She cherished spending time with her friends playing cards or tennis or just being together with those she loved wherever that may have been. She should be remembered for her kind heart and beautiful yet mischievous smile. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband: Philip Jacobs, Manitowoc; one son and daughter-in-law: Benjamin (Leica) Jacobs, Bayside, WI and their children: Miles and Theo Jacobs; one daughter and son-in-law: Jennifer (Joel) Andrew, Manitowoc and their children: Jackson Andrew and Jayme Andrew; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Sandy (Dr. John) Hoss, Delmar, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents: Bernard and Helen Schwartz; her sister Penny Craven; one grandson: Jacob Andrew.

Visitation for Lynn will be held at the Jens Family Funeral Home, 1122 South 8th Street, Manitowoc, on Monday, November 27, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon with a funeral service beginning at 12:00 noon. God is now with a vibrant, caring, loving, and compassionate Lynn. I only knew her from passing in various restaurants, but it must be for over 40 years, that she always took time to say hello to me. I know God will use her for a "Greeter" in heaven!

I was very sorry to read of Lynn's death. We were Reading Buddies for the Manitowoc Head Start program for many years, and I always enjoyed working with her and appreciated her "upbeat" attitude. My sincere sympathy to her entire family.

She was a dear friend for 60+ years (since Woodrow Wilson Jr. HS).

I will cherish the memories. She was very, very special to all who knew her. Always laughing, always up for a good time, always kind and caring. One of a kind, for sure.

She raised two great kids which is a wonderful legacy.

I have known Lynn since our high school days and was lucky to be her neighbor as we raised our children. Lynn had a way of making life's problems tolerable with her kind and incentive thoughts. She was a very strong lady that I admired. I will miss our conversations.

My condolences to her family.

It seems as though every time we made a trip to Manitowoc we somehow would unexpectedly run into Lynn. We would stand in a store or even on a street corner and catch up on things, usually regarding the Lincoln Class of '62. She will be dearly missed.

Lynn you are my inspiration! Always smiling, optimistic and happy. You will be deeply missed especially on the tennis courts and dining afterwards. I am so grateful for you welcoming me into your circle of friends and family-tennis, bridge & more when I arrived in Manitowoc. Thank you for touching my life. I love you - Lynda
