We are not sure where to begin...We didn't know Rick personally, but wish so bad we had the opportunity to know him and thank him for his unselfish caring, giving and love for his friends, his family, and for those he hadn't had the opportunity to meet yet. While at work yesterday, my husband Steve, was talking with Matt, Matt told Steve of Rick's passing, and how much he loved and respected Rick, and how much Rick will be missed. As they were talking, our son's name, Sam, was brought up. Matt was taken back, and asked Steve if Sam Taylor was his son. Yes, Steve responded, Sam just passed away July 30th, he was 24 and in the Coast Guard. Matt pulled up Sam's memorial site on his phone and asked, "this Sam Taylor?" You see, as Rick was struggling with his own health issues and realizing that he may not be on this earth much longer, he asked Matt to watch over Sam's memorial site when he was no longer here or able to do it. Sam's legacy lives on through Rick and Rick's legacy lives on through Sam. I am not sure if Sam and Rick ever had the opportunity to meet, but I do know, they are both in heaven, having wonderful conversations about motors, cars and leaving black marks on the pavement...Our heart goes out to Rick's family and friends.
Sincerely,
Susan & Steve Taylor

My heart was hurting when I heard the sad news. I remember the many trips that I spent time hanging out with Rick waiting for a/c to return or waiting to fix them. What a joy to be around him and I will cherish the memories. My condolences to the family and friends. He will be missed.

I had the pleasure and honor of working with Rick for twenty years at the Air Guard. A very compatant Jet mechanic and witty person who never missed a chance say the funniest things to people. Our tour to S. Carolina was one of my most enjoyable times with Rick. I smile still just remembering the good time we had. Jokes! Oh how he loved to tease others. He was the master!!
Gonna miss ya, Rick. Thanks for the good times, my friend.
Hand salute......
