Julian I. Small
8/18/1928 - 9/6/2013
Julian I. Small was born on August 18, 1928 in Morrell, NE to Julian "Ivy" and Sophia Christine Small. He died on September 6, 2013. He was the youngest of a large family with 11 siblings. He is the last of this line of Small's. When asked where he grew up, he would say "Highway 30 going North". The family followed the crop harvests settling in Tulelake, CA and later in Payette, Id. He is survived by 4 daughters from a previous marriage, Julie Flores, Theresa Brown, Jackie Gray, and Billie Smith. He married Carol Thomas on November 4, 1978 and took on two more daughters, when Julian became our dad he took us on as step children and never complained.... We were all a family. like any family, we had our times, but we got through them. We would like to think he was a better person because of us and we are all better people because of him. Death is hard. . . for the one that leaves and for those left behind. Thank you for choosing us to make a family with. Thank you for being the only dad that cared. Most of all thank you for loving our mother Carol. May you rest in peace... WE LOVE YOU! He is survived by his wife Carol, daughters Melinda Dudley (Ayad) and Dawn Thomas (Jess Wardrip) and Toriah.... grandchildren, great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Friday September 13, 2013 at Alsip & Persons Funeral Chapel in Nampa from 3 to 5pm, with cremation to follow.
