Imogene Joy Robinson, 73, of Nampa, Idaho, ended her journey here on Earth, Tuesday, December 25, 2012. Imogene was born March 3, 1939 in Atwood, Oklahoma to Evertt and Frances Walker. Imogene married Leroy Robinson on December 22, 1956 in Reno, Nevada. Theirs was a fifty-six year love story of porch swings, holding hands, sipping sweet tea, and listening to the morning song of the birds. The two of them made their home in Keyes, California. They raised their two children in Modesto, California.
Imogene resided her life in Nampa enjoying all that life could offer her. She had a very strong love for shoes, lipstick, tissue paper, animals, dishes, and linens. Imogene had many passions throughout her life. She loved to entertain and cook, but most of all she loved her family. Imogene worked for the Modesto City School System for 25 years She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church and the Toulumne Lodge.
Imogene is survived by her husband, Lee Robinson; children: Tam, daughter; John, son; Charlie Walker, brother; grandchildren, Aaron, Addy, Ami, Byron, and Jerney. Also surviving her are 8 great-grandchildren. Together they raised 16 foster children.
Imogene is preceded in death by her parents, Evertt and Frances; two of her sisters, Eugenia and Christene; two of her brothers, Joe and Kenny.
The family has placed their trust in Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel for care of Imogene and her final arrangements. A viewing for family and friends will be held Friday, December 28, 2012 from 5-7 pm at Alsip Funeral Chapel,404 10th Ave. S., Nampa. Funeral services will be held,Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 10:00 am at First United Presbyterian Church, 400 Lake Lowell Ave., Nampa.
