Anna Marie O'Dell

Anna Marie O'Dell, 89, of Nampa passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at VIBRA Acute Care Hospital with family by her side.
A funeral service to celebrate Anna's life will be held at 2:00 pm, on Tuesday, March 10th at the Chapel of Tranquility at Alsip & Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Ave. So., Nampa. Reverend Bruce Swanson will officiate. Friends may greet the family on the evening of Monday, March 9th, from 5- 7 pm at the Chapel of Tranquility at Alsip & Persons Funeral Chapel.
Anna was born November 22, 1925, in Crystal, ND to Elliott "Dike" and Flossie Hunter. Anna graduated high school in Crystal, ND. The following day she traveled with her mother to Carthage, MO to visit family. She stayed in Carthage, MO to work at the base-exchange at Camp Crowder where she met the love of her life Veldon "Digger" O'Dell who was serving in the Army. After WWII ended, Anna and Veldon were married on February 8, 1946 in Nampa, ID.
Anna worked at the Nampa Drug Center for several years until Veldon reenlisted in the Army-Air Corps. During her travels as a military wife, she once again worked at base exchanges, became a licensed cosmetologist and later became a representative for Estee Lauder. Anna and Veldon retired in 1974 returning to their home in Nampa.
Anna is survived and will be dearly missed by her son, Dennis O'Dell of Nampa; grandson, Ryan O'Dell of Nampa; sisters, Mary Lou Hartje of Hensel, ND and Donna Anderson of Nampa; nieces, nephews and other distant family members and many friends. Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Digger O'Dell; sister, Lola; parents, Dike and Flossie Hunter.
Anna had written "Ways to Remember Me" which included, light a candle, plant a tree and write a poem.
