Arthur Carlson

Art Carlson of Meridian passed away on January 6, 2015. Funeral services will be held at Cloverdale Funeral Home Boise, ID. on January 12 at 2:30 p.m. with Vertis Young officiating.
Art was born to Carl and Clara Carlson on November 5, 1920 in Big Piney, Wy. They moved to Idaho in 1928. He attended Nampa High School. There he met the love of his life, Dorotha Wall. They were married June 1st, 1940. To this union two children were born. Art served in the US Army during World War II. He farmed for several years. The farm was sold in 1963. Art went to work full time as job superintendent for a large construction company on such buildings as Lowell Scott Jr. High, Len B. Jordan building and Chaffee Hall at Boise State. He retired in March of 1982. He still had his work shop at home and loved making things for family and friends.
His love for family and God always came first.
Besides his wife of almost 75 years, he is survived by his daughter Jeanette Ward-Geddes (Dave) of Nampa, a son Dick Carlson (Sandy) of Boise, four grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, one brother, a very special mother-in-law and son-in-law.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to or Boise Valley Church of the Brethren building fund, 4721 N Star Rd., Meridian, ID., the church where they were married almost 75 years ago and in which they celebrated their 70th anniversary.
