Barbara Leona Coons
Barbara Leona Coons 67, Nampa, ID (formerly of Homedale), died April 16, 2016 in Caldwell, ID. Little by little as we grieve for lost loved ones, we begin to remember not just that they died, but that they lived! Barbara was born April 19, 1948, to Charles and Shirley Webster in Fort Bragg California. Barbara met Daniel Coons and they were married in August of 1968. They lived in California and in 1969 had a son, Clint. They moved to Idaho, where they had their daughter, Brenda in 1971. Barbara & Dan moved to Homedale in 1978. After Barbara & Dan divorced, Barbara moved to Nampa and followed her heart to be a beautician & eventually had her own Salon, in Nampa, Barbara's Beauty Salon. Barbara's heart was overfilled with the unconditional love of her children Clint & Brenda. She was always supportive of their adventures in life. She never hesitated to tell people how proud of them that she was. Her Love of family increased as she was promoted to "GRANDMA". She loved her grandchildren dearly and loved watching Amanda, Taylor, Megan & Owen as they were growing, enjoying her time with them to the fullest. She was given the fitting & loving title as "The Warden" by her grandkids. It suited her well. Barbara was blessed with her newest grandson, Stanlee, a few months before she passed. She was very proud of all of her grandchildren. She loved to show off pictures and tell her friends what they were all doing. Barbara was a very strong lady that fought a long & courageous battle with cancer. At the end of her battle, she was tired & accepted that she was needed elsewhere to watch over her family & loved ones in a more productive way. She constantly told her children and grandchildren how proud of them she was & how much she loved them. Barbara left us knowing she had friends and family waiting for her. She knew that she would be missed but would not be in pain any longer & she would see us all again. Barbara passed away peacefully, with family and loved ones by her side on April 16th 2016. Barbara will forever be remembered by her children, grandchildren, step-mother, brother, sisters, numerous family members, & many friends. Barbara was preceded in death by her father, mother, and mother and father In-Law. There will be a Celebration of Life held at the Homedale Senior Center on Saturday May 14th at 11:00 am. A potluck lunch & gathering of friends & family will follow. Barbara received wonderful care at MSTI during her illness. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her name to St. Luke's Health Foundation, MSTI at 190 E Bannock Boise Idaho 83712. Barbara appreciated the high quality of care at Autumn Wind and Heart & Home Hospice. Services are under the direction of Zeyer Funeral Chapel, Nampa, ID.
