Benjamin Keith Chance
December 7, 1949 - January 31, 2016
Benjamin (Ben) K. Chance, 66, of Caldwell, was born December 7, 1949 in Caldwell, ID to Loren and Lucy Chance. He had a younger brother (Don). Ben passed away January 31, 2016 at his home in Sacramento, CA of heart complications.
Ben graduated from Vallivue High School in 1968 and after graduation served in the Navy on the USS Oklahoma City for two years. After serving, he returned to Nampa in 1970 and graduated BSU in Auto Body. He married Debbie Baum in 1971. They had two children, Carrie and Tyler. He worked for several auto bodies before starting his own shop - Chance Auto Body with his brother Don. He moved to Sacramento in 1998 to be there for the birth of his grandson (Ryan) and then two years later the birth of his granddaughter Morgan.
He became an insurance adjuster and started a career with Allstate Insurance where he worked until he passed away.
In his free time, he enjoyed going to car shows with his longtime girlfriend, Joy. He really loved coming back to Idaho to spend time with his family and friends. His favorite vacations were spent in Pine camping and jeeping and then traveling on to Hot August Nights with his grandchildren and Joy.
A fun tid-bit about Ben, he always looked for the number "406" (Ford Engine) on clocks, signs, license plates and etc.
Ben was a wonderful father, grandfather and friend. He will be dearly missed.
Ben was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Debbie; son, Tyler and brother, Don.
He is survived by his longtime girlfriend, Joy; daughter, Carrie and her husband, Sheldon Anderson; Patrick Collins and grandchildren Ryan, Morgan and Kenny.
