Bobby Lee Pangburn, of Meridian, Idaho, formerly of Caldwell, Idaho and Winnemucca, Nevada, passed away January 20, 2017 at the age of 90, just six months after his wife of 63 years, Wilma. Bob was born in Okemah, Oklahoma to Edd and Ruth Pangburn on November 14, 1926. Bob grew up in Oklahoma and was drafted into the US Army during World War II in his senior year of high school. The war ended during Bob's training at Ft. Lewis, Washington. He reenlisted and was able to serve his country as part of the Allied Occupation Forces in Germany. He came home from Germany, returned to high school and graduated in 1948 from Morris High School. Bob met the love of his life, Wilma Winona Driskill, in Morris and they were married in August of 1952.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma, his sister, Patty Davis and his parents Edd and Ruth Pangburn. He is survived by his five children, son Bob Pangburn, his wife, Carol Pangburn, son Dan Pangburn, his wife, Diane Pangburn, daughter Melinda Schulz, son Richard Pangburn, daughter Melanie Erquiaga, and her husband Michael Erquiaga. Also surviving Bob are his seven grandchildren, Ryan Schulz, Amber Schulz, Amanda (Pangburn) McGinnis, Richard Pangburn, Samantha Pangburn, Cole Erquiaga and Clay Erquiaga and his two great-grandchildren, Katherine Marthaller and Savanna Storms.
Bob was a farmer most of his life and believed strongly in the simple things: family, hard work, integrity, honesty and genuine kindness and helpfulness toward others. These things were returned to him tenfold in the final years of his life.
A funeral service for Bob will be held on Friday, March 24th at 10:00 a.m. at Bella Vida Funeral Home, 9661 W. Chinden Blvd., Garden City. An internment service for both Bob and Wilma will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Idaho State Veteran's Cemetery, 10100 Horseshoe Bend Road, Boise.
