Cameron Carl Gepner
November 13, 1931 - March 29, 2016
Cameron Carl Gepner, 84, of Caldwell, Idaho, died at home, surrounded by family on March 29, 2016. Cameron succumbed to congestive heart failure, but during his last days he was adamant that his death not be called "due to natural causes." He knew it was not God's original intent for humans to grow old and die, and that he was, in fact, dying as a consequence of Adam's sin.
Cameron, the eldest of three children, was born on November 13, 1931 in Clyde, Kansas to parents Carl and Louise Gepner. He married Johneta Barrett on May 23, 1952 and the couple moved to Caldwell, Idaho where they raised their six children and have continued to reside, happily married, for the past 63 years.
Cameron enjoyed various occupations including auto and truck painting and repair, truck driving, and construction. During the 35 years he spent in concrete construction, Cam completed many projects throughout the Treasure Valley. Although he loved his work, his true vocation and zeal was serving his Creator, Jehovah God. He was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on January 15, 1950 and continued devoted and unwaveringly faithful to his death. Cam's greatest joy was in helping others come to know God, helping them to discover the practical and uplifting value of God's word, and helping them to build a personal relationship with Jehovah. His life was fuller as a result of enjoying close friendships, and he treasured memories of meeting fellow Christians in Ukraine, Korea, and South Africa.
Cameron is survived and will be greatly missed by his loving wife Johneta, his cherished children: Cammy Harrington, Sherry Howard, Bart Gepner, Connie Gepner, Mark Gepner, and Amy Fouser, their spouses, eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He is survived by his sister, Phyllis Waltman, and was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Gepner. His family is incredibly appreciative to have known him, loved him, and benefited from his excellent example of generosity, love for Jehovah, and love for others.
A memorial service will be held at Caldwell High School on April 9, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. To read more of Cam's life story or to share memories or photos, please visit his online guestbook at www.cremationsociety-idaho.com. The Gepner family would like to thank Heart and Home Hospice staff for their compassionate care and attentiveness to Cameron during his final days.
