Clara F Bentley
October 25, 1931 - November 24, 2015
Clara Fae Bentley, 84, died on November 24, 2015 of natural causes in Nampa, Idaho. Memorial Services will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 4 at Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Avenue South in Nampa.
Clara was born Sunday, October 25, 1931 at home in Abilene, Texas to Rush Cleveland and Exie Vera Doyle. On Sunday, June 15, 1947 she married James Delbert Bentley, Sr. in Abilene, Texas. Jim's career in the military and VA hospitals required they move several times. They lived in Abiliene, San Antonio, and McKinney, Texas; Fort Bayard, New Mexico; and Roseburg, Oregon before settling in Nampa in 1968. Wherever they lived she and Jim were always active members in the Church of the Nazarene - teaching Sunday school, singing as a family or in the choir, and holding any supporting lay role when asked. They shared 52 years before Jim's passing in 1999. She loved her church and was a consistent attendee and supporter. More than anything, she was dedicated to prayer, always rising early in the morning to pray for her family and those in need. Clara was a dedicated mother and always held a variety of jobs, eventually retiring after a fulfilling career at Hewlett Packard.
Clara was preceded in death by her Husband, James Delbert Bentley; Father, Rush Cleveland Doyle; Mother, Exie Vera Doyle; Brothers, Roy Doyle and Billy Doyle; and Sisters, Evelyn Bonine and Juanita Snow. She is survived by her children, James "Jim" Bentley Jr., Alice "Joy" Winkler, Paul Bentley, Phil Bentley; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Clara was loved by all - especially her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. She was affectionately known by many as "Nana."
We are grateful for the wonderful care and support given by Legacy Hospice during her last days.
Now, go hug your mother.
