Claudia K Fischer
March 23, 1936 - May 4th, 2017
Claudia was born in Denver, Colorado, and passed away after living a long and good life at the age of eighty-one in Nampa, Idaho. In June 1956, Claudia married Robert (Bob) Fischer, and they moved from Grand Junction, Colorado and started a family in Southeast Idaho. In 1967, the family moved to Pocatello where Claudia and Bob raised three children: Charlene, Steve, and Wayne. In 1989 they settled in Nampa, Idaho and remained in the same home for the next 28 years, and this past June they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Bob passed away January 30th, 2017 and three months later Claudia joined him.
Anyone who knew Claudia, knows that she was one strong, classy woman; but most importantly she was a loving wife and mother. She loved to garden and create beautiful landscapes, and had the ability to make anything grow. Claudia was highly artistic and had a good eye for design and detail as demonstrated in her various paintings, bead-work and stained glass projects. Claudia and Bob loved to travel with their brothers and sisters to Nevada, Hawaii, Alaska, or Mexico and came back home with stories to tell. They were active in many sports car rallies in the early years and are now "cruising" together.
Claudia was always up for working another jigsaw puzzle and looked forward to completing the daily Sudoku in the papers. Claudia pursued a degree in Art Education while attending college in Greeley, CO, and after meeting Bob she decided it was more important to raise a good family. She worked at a local deli in Pocatello and when she moved to Nampa, Claudia decided to work at the Idaho Press Tribune where she ran the machinery used to print the ads and made long lasting friendships. Claudia also worked at the elections and volunteered as the local voting Registrar.
Special thanks to the Compassus Hospice Care staff and St. Luke's Hospital for her excellent care.
Claudia is survived by her children Charlene (John Nakata), Steve (Stephanie Fischer), and Wayne (Betty Miller); grandchildren Sequoia and Jackson; and her sisters Sally and Julie. A celebration of both Bob and Claudia's lives will be held later this year at the family home.
