Darrell Ray Burback
October 11, 1935 - February 6, 2017
Darrell was born to Jacob G. (Jake) and Lorene (Schmitt) Burback on October 11, 1935 in Nampa, Idaho and passed away on February 6, 2017 in Portland, Oregon from liver cancer.
Darrell was raised on a farm in Caldwell and graduated from Caldwell High School in 1953. He married Shirley Lenz in 1955. They were blessed with their son Mark, born in 1969. Darrell and Shirley celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2005.
Darrell farmed in the Caldwell area for several years before moving to Oregon. He went to computer programming school, and later started his own successful direct mail and marketing business from which he retired in 2011.
Darrell was an amazing man who was full of mischief, loved music, wine and the Oregon Coast, and didn't know a strange. He and Shirley enjoyed traveling in their motor home to McCall, Idaho as well as along the West Coast.
He is survived by his son, Mark Burback or Portland, Oregon, his sister, Gwen Burback Hamby of Boise, ID and nephew, Darren Hamby of Seattle, WA, along with numerous nieces and nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Shirley, brother-in-law, Maury Hamby, and sister-in-law Hilma (Lenz) Ronfeld.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 17, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church, 404 Nectarine St., Nampa, Idaho.
