David D. Vredevelt was born August 5, 1925 in Snohomish, WA to Albert and Nora Vredevelt. Dave was the 3rd of 4 children and the only boy in the family. As a young man he helped his father by working on their farm or at the family service station. After finishing high school he joined the Navy in 1943 to serve his country during World War II in the Asian Pacific as a Motor Machinist Mate 3rd Class. Honorably discharged in 1946 he continued to find employment as a mechanic. He married and had 6 children Jim, Steve, Teresa, Arlin, Phillip, and Tom along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dave worked for the Greyhound Bus Co, also up on the Alaska pipeline, for Boise Kenworth and Boise-Meridian Irrigation District before he retired. He met Maureen McKay Bowman in the fall of 1978 and they were married the following year. They shared 37 wonderful years serving the Lord and each other while attending Nampa First Church of the Nazarene. Dave loved the outdoors especially fishing, hunting, camping and working in his garden. When he was not outside you would find him reading his Bible or writing poems. He appreciated Maureen's family and her children were thankful for the happiness that they shared. During his last years he was cared for by his wife and her family Kirk and Joyce Bowman, Corinne and Don Conley, David and Gail Bowman, Richard and Gretchen Bowman and Diane and Jim Parker and numerous grandchildren.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Trinity Pines Camp and Conference Center, 55 SW 5th Ave Suite #100, Meridian, ID 83642.
