Dean Ezra Beus
Dean Ezra Beus, 93, of Kuna, Idaho, passed away Friday, January 6, 2017, at the home of his son Steve in Kuna, Idaho. He was born June 5, 1923, in Clinton, Utah, to George Ezra Beus and Emma Emmaline Barton Beus. He met Alice Elaine Stettler on the school bus when he was 16 years old. She was the only girl he ever wanted to date. They were married and sealed June 3, 1942, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and are the parents of six children. They were apart much of their early days while Dean served in the Army during WWII in Germany, France, and North Africa, seeing each other only occasionally when he was assigned state-side for short times. After the war, they lived in Utah where he worked for the Union Pacific Railroad and farmed. In 1959 they purchased a dairy and 80 acres in Kuna, Idaho. Besides keeping busy on the dairy and the land, he was always active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including serving as bishop, stake president, patriarch, and sealer in the Boise Idaho LDS Temple. He and Elaine served an 18-month mission in Jamaica. Always together, his wife of 74 years died only 17 days before his death. He was also preceded in death by his daughter Lorraine Beus Morgan (Lynn); by his parents; four brothers: Dale, Henry, Wayne, and Val; and sister, Cleo. He is survived by his children: Steve (Becky) Beus, Kuna; Stan (Jan) Beus, Nampa; Lynn (Cyndy) Beus, Hansen; Shane (Elizabeth) Beus, Kuna; Lana (Richard) Nielson, Basin City, WA; 39 grandchildren and 150 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
