Donald Jack Teraberry
April 26, 1935 - November 14, 2015
Donald "Jack" Teraberry passed away on November 14, 2015 encircled with loved ones.
Jack was born April 26, 1935 to Donald Jacob and Mildred Pearl Kilby Teraberry in Lenox, Iowa. His childhood was spent in Iowa near his wonderful grandparents and "the great-aunties." His Grandmother Teraberry shared her love of books with Jack which became a life-long love for him.
In 1951, the family moved to Concord, California where Jack quickly became involved in student government, football, basketball, and fast-pitch softball at Mt. Diablo High School. He had the privilege of being coached by Rod Franz and John Ralston on the 1953 championship football team. He started dating Ravelta Jo Phelps in April 1952 and they were married July 17, 1954. After the birth of their sons, Tim and Steve, Jack and Jo wanted a more rural lifestyle for their sons so they moved to Idaho in 1962.
Jack graduated from the College of Idaho in 1968 with a BA Degree in Business. He had many interests and an adventurous spirit which led him to take advantage of many business opportunities. He served the City of Caldwell on the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Library Board. Never content with the status quo, he made things happen as he researched, planned and put into action his plans whether business, hunting, fishing or family vacations. It would make your head spin trying to keep up with him.
Jack will be remembered for his quiet faith in the Lord and deep love for his family. He was a true people-person, always ready to offer a smile and good conversation. He remembered details of people's lives and local events which he enjoyed recalling with his buddies.
Jack is survived by his wife, Ravelta Jo; sons Tim (Annette) and Steve (Rebecca); grandchildren Stacia Jo, Nick, Luke, Jonah and Hannah Jo; great-grandchildren Makaiyla, Kamri Jo, Kaden and Jaxon; brother Randy (Mary) and his children; brother-in-law Bud Phelps (Edie); Jo's nieces and nephews.
"Thank Yous" are insufficient in expressing our gratitude to the medical staff at Dr. Llenos office, West Valley ER, St. Al's. Caldwell Cancer Center and St. Al's Cardiac ICU.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Caldwell First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Caldwell First Baptist Church Building Fund, 221 E. Linden, Caldwell, ID 83605.
