Elizabeth Lora Owen
October 23, 1945 - December 27, 2016
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the Lord has called home our wife, mother and grandmother Elizabeth Lora Owen of Fruitland, ID. She was 71 years old and passed away at a Boise, ID hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her husband Gary and three children John, Gloria and Robert.
Elizabeth was born on October 23, 1945, in Tucumcari, NM to Thomas and Della (Sanchez) Pacheco. She passed on Dec. 27 at 00:45. She grew up in a large family with eleven siblings.
In June of 1990 Elizabeth married Gary Dale Owen. They made their homes in Boise, ID, Pollock, ID and Fruitland, ID.
Elizabeth worked many jobs during her life. She was a manager at both K Mart, Red Lion gift shop and Baird's dry cleaners. Her most important job - and the one she did the best - was being a wife, mother and grandmother.
She kept an immaculate home. She loved the outdoors she enjoyed it with her daily walks, gardening, camping, fishing or huckleberry picking. She knitted and crocheted many blankets, scarfs and hats that her family enjoys.
Elizabeth excelled in every activity she was involved with. She became Noble Queen of the Rebekah Lodge and was active in the Red Hat Society.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband Gary Owen of Fruitland, ID; her son John (Janie) Rodriquez of Pocatello, ID; her daughter Gloria (Brian) Myers of Caldwell, ID; and son Robert (Keri) Murray of Caldwell, ID. She has five grandchildren: Steven, Louis, Rhiannon, Elizabeth and Bobby; and three sisters: JoAnna, Florence and Susie. She has five step children and 23 great grandchildren.
She has one surviving brother: Johnny Pacheco; many nieces and nephews; brother in-law Bruce Owen of Moses Lake, WA; and her beloved little dog Lacy.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers.
There will be a memorial service held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 320 N. Pennsylvania Ave. in Fruitland, Idaho, on December 30, 2016, at 10:00 A.M.
Her children would like to thank her husband Gary for taking such loving care of her and never leaving her side.
