Ellen Catherine (Noble) Moore
March 26, 1934 - May 13, 2017
Ellen Catherine (Noble) Moore, 83, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 13th, 2017.
Ellen was born March 26, 1934, in Nampa, ID. She was the fourth child, as she liked to say, "the baby of the family," of Grace and George Noble. She attended school in Nampa and met the love of her life, Howard Moore, at the Roller Drome. They dated for two years and were married May 23rd, 1952. Their daughter Marla was born in 1953, but passed away shortly after birth. Ellen and Howard later moved to Montpelier, ID, where their son Jerron was born in 1955. Howard's job later took them to Twin Falls, ID, where their daughter Cheryl was born in 1960.
Ellen worked at several law firms in Boise over 25 years, including Eberle & Berlin; Roden, Weston, & Weston; and Elam, Burke, Jeppesen, Evans, & Boyd. When Howard's job took them to Salt Lake City, she continued her career as a legal secretary with a local attorney. No matter where she worked, she was well respected by those in her profession and the lawyers she worked for.
Ellen and Howard were truly devoted to each other and did everything together. They volunteered at the St. Alphonsus Foundation for many years, Ellen with the Ladies Auxiliary and Howard with Life Flight. They were also involved with Festival of Trees, creating and donating some very special and unique trees. They also took great pride in contributing to Mountain Home Air Force Base's Operation Warm Heart.
Ellen was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. Our lives are forever enriched for having known and loved her. Family was always the most important thing to her and she was an inspiration to all. She and Howard were happily married for 58 years until his passing in 2010.
Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Grace and George Noble, her husband Howard, and her infant daughter Marla.
She is survived by her son, Jerron (Debbie) Moore of Boise; her daughter, Cheryl Hawkins of Boise; grandchildren: Curtis (Rachel Jones) Moore, Tyler Hawkins, Tiffany (Robert) Howe, and Eric Moore; as well as great-grandchildren: Cadence, Nathaniel, and Alexandra Howe. She also leaves two sisters, Georgia Ritchie and Corlene Walker, a brother, William "Bill" (Donna) Noble, and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the excellent care provided by the staff at Grace Assisted Living on State St. and to First Choice Hospice.
There will be a private graveside service for family members. She will be laid to rest with her husband Howard at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery where they will once again be together. A celebration of Ellen's life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made in Ellen's name to the BYSC Optimist Youth Football Complex, PO Box 44859, Boise, Idaho 83711. Remembrances may be left for the family at www.AccentFuneral.com. Services are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home and Cremation.
