On Jan. 27th, 2016, Mom left this old world behind and danced through the Pearly Gates. Elsa Marie "Sam" Timmermen (our Ammy) was born July 13,1928 in Tetonia, Idaho to W.L. Slim and Afton Hill and lived most of her early years on a farm near Vale, Ore. She and her siblings, Wilma, Bill and Betty were raised during hard times, but came through it with plenty of fun stories to tell. Mom was very fun, fiesty little lady who never felt completely dressed unless she had her earrings and lipstick. She loved her kids more than anything. She enjoyed visiting and was well- known for her wonderful hugs.
One of her favorite pastimes was working in her little shop, carving and painting, her treasures. Mom was a real people person and enjoyed being a waitress. She worked at the Saratoga in Caldwell in the 18960's, and later at Mr.Pickwicks in Karcher Mall.
After a few starts and stops, she met the love of her life, John Timmerman (her Johnny) in 1969.
They had a wonderful 42 years together before his death in 2011. They enjoyed their motor home and winter trips to AZ.
She is survived by her son, Boyd Reyburn (Marsha) of Centennial, CO, and daughter Linda"Kim" Sloan (Ron) of CaldweLl, 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, her sister Betty White of Port Angeles, WA, and numerous nieces and nephews.
We would like to give a very special thank you to the wonderful staff at Park Place Assisted Living and Journeys Hospice for all the amazing care and love gave our mom. She truly loved you all. A memorial service is planned for February 1st at 10:00 am at the Nampa Church of the Brethren, with a private burial at a later date. -
