Estella Martha Lee
October 27, 1923 - April 14, 2015
Estella Martha Lee, 91 of Nampa, went home to be with Jesus on April 14, 2015. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 18th at The Salvation Army Church, 412 12th Ave S, Nampa. Condolences may be shared at www.dakanfuneralchapel.com
Estella was born October 27, 1923 to Vinson and Luella Moore in Casper, Wyoming. She began married life, the wife of a pastor. She played the piano for services and at time played violin in a worship group. Estella later spent many years as a member of The Salvation Army, teaching Sunday School, working with the women's groups. She made sure her children were involved in the youth groups which taught them Christian principles.
Estella was a devoted mother who sacrificed much to raise 5 Godly children. She worked hard to provide for her children at various places, including Boeing where she ran the only flow solder machine in a room by herself. Later in life, Estella owned a mailbox store where many of her grandchildren have fond memories of 'helping'. She loved to entertain and made the holidays special for her family.
Estella had a great sense of humor, loved to sing (especially hymns), and taught her grandchildren many life lessons - including how to cheat at solitaire. Nana, as some of her grandchildren called her, was famous for her 'Potato Soup' made out of leftover French Fries.
Estella is survived by her children, James (Peggy) Ross of Nampa, Martha (Ken) Winkelman of Nampa, Dan (Bonna) Ross of Shoreline, WA, Mary Ellen (David) Mims of Poulsbo, WA, and Tim (Marcia) Ross of Shoreline, WA; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 2 great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 2 great-grandchildren.
