Franklin "Dale" Kurpjuweit
May 29, 1931 - May 2, 2016
Dale was born on May 29, 1931 at Hector, MN, the 5th son to Fred C. and Hazel (McCully) Kurpjuweit. He passed away on May 2, 2016 of natural causes at home. At his request no formal services will be held.
Dale was looking forward to reaching his 85th birthday on May 29th. Out of his family of 11 people no one lived past age 84. He was 27 days short of attaining 85. Therefore, we will host a casual "Celebration of Life" gathering to honor his life on Sunday, May 29th at Canyon Creek Restaurant at Freeway and Franklin Blvd in Nampa from 3 pm to 6 pm. Dale's favorite color was Red. If you would like to wear some red we will make a statement for him.
Dale graduated High School at Bear Creek, Mo. He moved with his family to Nampa at age 21. He went to work in the Alfalfa Seed industry where he worked for 39 years. He also enjoyed working on his farm near Kuna. Dale's favorite pastimes were hunting and fishing. He played baseball and basketball well into his 50's.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Kay, and their 3 children, Kim, Jonica, Nola; 5 grandchildren: Jeremy Willis, Carerra Atkinson, Jennifer Willis, Codie Coombs, Kaci (Coombs) Kurpjuweit, 2 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Bonnie Hill and Kaye Trautman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Julius, Douglas, Fred, Lewis, and twin sisters Yoatta Morris, and Hazel Axtell.
