Frieda Esther Armstrong
October 8, 1923 - August 22, 2016
Frieda Esther (Moon) Armstrong, a wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt and dear friend to many, left us to go dancing again with her beloved husband Bud on Monday, August 22, 2016, at the age of 92.
Frieda was born in Nampa, Idaho to Ray and Eva (Hoadley) Moon and raised in Caldwell, Idaho, with her sister Edith and two brothers Carroll and Paul. She graduated from Caldwell High School in 1942. Frieda and Warren J (Bud) Armstrong started 1947 off right by marrying on January 1 of that year; they immediately settled in Wilder which was her home until 2010. Frieda was very involved in the Wilder community, always available for son Jimmy and his many school related activities. She was a member of the Wilder Methodist Church, Beta Sigma Phi and Sewing Club. Frieda especially loved the dances she and Bud attended, accompanying him on the truck for their cattle hauling business and playing cards with her friends. She kept herself busy working at the Furrow Café, Facelli Winery, demoing at Paul's Market and worked Wilder elections for many years.
Frieda loved the time she spent with her family, from annual Moon Family Reunions to vacations with Jim, Gwen, Julie and Paul. As the family grew she cherished the visits with her great-grandchildren, Dawson, Derek, Annika and Josh.
Frieda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister, two brothers and daughter Kay who died at birth. She is survived by son Jim (Gwen) Armstrong of Nampa, grandchildren Julie (Curtis) Knight of Nampa and James Paul (Karla) Armstrong of Livermore, CA; and great-grandchildren Dawson and Derek Knight and Annika and Josh Armstrong. She has many cherished family members; cousins, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews who will miss her greatly.
Frieda's family wishes to thank the loving and caring staff at Sunnyridge Assisted Living and Legacy Hospice Services for taking such good care of her in the last months of life.
A Memorial Service will be held at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell, Friday, August 26, 2016, at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution to Wilder United Methodist Church or the .
