Grace Stirling Owens
February 9, 1919 - March 16, 2015
Grace Stirling Owens, age 96, of Parma, Idaho died of natural causes Monday, March 16, 2015 at a local hospital. Grace was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on February 9, 1919 to Heber A. and Mary (Newton) Stirling. At age one she moved with her family to Los Angeles, CA. She attended schools in Los Angeles and Riverside, CA. Grace married Ernest Leslie Owens on December 5, 1941 in Riverside, CA. She worked in retail most of her working life. They lived in Riverside County, CA until moving to Parma, ID in 1979.
Grace is survived by her son Ernest L. Owens Jr. and wife Barbara of Battle Ground, WA, Margaret E. Smith and husband Ronald of Parma, ID and son-in-law Michael J. Kane of Caldwell, 10 grandchildren, Mardi (Tim) Wilkinson, Kenneth Owens, Carrie Owens and Kimberly (David) Daum all of Washington, Doug (Shawna) Smith, Christopher (Carrie) Smith and Aaron Smith, John Kane, Jennifer (Cody) Neal and Brian (Janet) Kane all of Idaho. 5 great-grandchildren, Savannah, Caleb, Olivia, Madison and Ryan Smith all of Idaho. Her younger brother James H. Stirling of Yountville, CA and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Ernest Owens, her daughter Ruth T. Kane, her parents, two brothers and her sister, all her Stirling and Owens brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and great granddaughter Megan Smith.
Her family wishes to thank her doctors Jocele Skinner and Justin Parkinson and all the nurses that cared for her in emergency, ICU and on second floor nursing at West Valley Medical Center for their excellent care. There will be no memorial service at this time.
