Dan was born in Portland, Oregon on January 25, 1938 and died peacefully in his sleep at home due to heart disease on December 8, 2015.
Dan attended Grant High School and graduated from Lewis and Clarke College. In 1958 he married Jocine Sackmaster. He worked for the Ford Motor Company for 10 years, then moved to The Dalles, Oregon where he worked as a car salesman for Ray Schultens. Ray purchased the dealership in Nampa and hired Dan as the manager. In 1975 Dan, Jocine and their children moved to Nampa, Idaho.

After Ray Schultens' death, Dan and Jeanne purchased the dealership from Gloria Schultens. After years of having the dealership downtown, a new dealership was built in 2001 at the Idaho Center Auto Mall. In 2012 Dan's son, DJ, began a buyout of the franchise and the business was sold to Corwin Ford in 2013.
Dan received many honors in his lifetime. He was a 7 time President Award Winner, received the Ford Motor Company Award and was the 2009 Idaho Time Dealer recipient.
Dan was preceded in death by his first wife, Jocine Wiebold; and his son, Kelly R. Wiebold. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Wiebold; daughter, Sharyn Barrett; son, Dan R. Wiebold; 5 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
