Irene Mae Way was born to Oscar and Velma (Ware) Hammons. In Parma, ID she met and married John E. Way Mar. 3, 1943. She was a telephone operator in Wilder, farmer's wife, Real Estate Agent, and ran for House of Rep in Idaho, House of Fabric. Her hobbies were sewing and taking care of family. She lived a good life. She is survived by her children Richard (Lenora) Way Waldport, OR, Lucille Way Caldwell, ID, Pam (Chuck) Schaffeld Ontario, OR, Kelly (Becky) Way Cascade, ID, Sibling Larry Hammons Caldwell, ID, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was proceded in death by her parents, four brothers and a sister, and great granddaughter. They lived in Yuma, AZ for many years and became friends with many while there. They also enjoyed the Oregon Coast where they spent most of their summers until John's passing in 2000, now they can be joined once again. Mom stayed in Yuma until her health declined. The last 3 years was spent at SpringRidge Assisted Living in Caldwell, ID where she got great care from the staff there. A service is planned on July 23 at 4pm at the Seventh-Day Adventist Community Church with a potluck to follow. Bring your favorite dish, kitchen available. 2106 W Linden St. Caldwell, ID. Wear any shade of pink.
