J Donald Seeley
March 29th, 1930 - July 9th, 2015
Don was born on March 29, 1930 in the borough of Manhattan of New York City. He started school at a Barnum Corners School, a one-room school in rural Putnam County, New York. He graduated from Danbury, Conn. High School in June, 1947 and joined the Army Air Force in August, 1947. On leave en-route to Korea in 1951, he met the most important person in his life, his lovely and most wonderful wife, Linda. To this marriage, taking place in June 1953, were born their children, Donna, Donald, and Sarah. One always took the risk when asking about those children and experienced a lecture about their accomplishments.
After a rewarding career of 20 years, Don left the Air Force and joined Hewlett-Packard as a technician in the Colorado Springs Division. Upon the creation of the Disc Memory Division, Don, Linda and Sarah moved to Boise, Idaho. When HP offered early retirement in 1986, Don and Linda embarked on a 6-month tour of the U.S. to visit friends and family while they were still able to enjoy the visit. Being stricken at early ages of wanderlust, we moved many times around the Treasure Valley, always making new friends and participating in community activities.
Among Don's most enjoyable activities was community service such as being a member and chairman of both the Ada County and Kuna Planning and Zoning Commissions.
