James Melvin Lewis
May 10, 1924 - March 18, 2017
Heaven called home a special angel, James Melvin (Pop) Lewis passed away on March 18, 2017 in his home that he shared with his daughter and son in law in Middleton, Idaho. He was born in Inwood, WV on May 10th, 1924 to W. Strong and Fannie Mae Lewis. He was one of seven children; all of his siblings preceded him in death. He met the love of his life, Kleeanna G. Whitmore and they were married Christmas Eve, 1941. Shortly after this union, Pop was sent to England to serve his country as an Army Air Corp Radio Operator in WWII. He was the proud recipient of a purple heart. Upon returning back to the US, Mom and Dad traveled to several States before residing in Huntington, CT. He was owner and proprietor of Hydro Constructors in Stratford until 1988. He was the proud father of Bonnie Jo Duvall (Deceased) and Jamie Lewis Hunihan of Middleton, Idaho. He was a father to his son in laws, Charles R Duvall and Timothy J Hunihan. He was Grandfather to Richard, Jason and Nicole Duvall, and Dylan Hunihan. He was Great-Grandfather to 7 and Great-Great-Grandfather to 9. He is survived by them and countless extended family. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kleeanna (Kay), his beloved daughter Bonita Joann Duvall (Bonnie)and his cherished granddaughter Genna Kay Duvall. Pop was a caring, quiet, generous man who was well liked by all that knew him. His rosy cheeks, his quiet giggles, his love of NASCAR, Golf, and countless crossword puzzles, his scotch on the rocks, his cigars, his love of all the animals he took care of throughout the years, we will never forget. He is finally with all of those whom he has longed for over many years. He will be brought 'home' to West Virginia, for a graveside service and burial at Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Kearneysville, West Virginia.
