James Conrad Schill, 85 of Caldwell, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2015. Jim was the first child born to Conrad and Grace Schill on May 25, 1930 in Moore, Montana. As an infant, the family moved to Twin Falls, where his brother Oscar was born. Jim attended school in Wilder and Caldwell, graduating from Caldwell High in 1948. He served in the US Navy from 1948 until 1952 aboard the U.S.S. Cavalier APA 37.
Jim married Shirley Jo Wheelock on September 4, 1954 in Nampa. They made their home in Caldwell, raising their children Christy and Randy. Jim and Jo celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last September. Jim worked at Sattler Auto Electric for 42 years. He attended Faith Lutheran Church for over 50 years. Jim was a 58 year member and Past Master of Mt. Moriah Lodge #39, A.F. & A.M., and was a Past Patron of Hermosa Chapter #32, Order of the Eastern Star. He was also a member of the Caldwell Ramblers Good Sam RV Club. He loved camping, motorcycle riding, fishing, leather working and woodworking.
Jim is survived by his wife, Shirley Jo, daughter Christy (Brett), son Randy (Pam) and grandchildren Kayla, Riley, Chanel; nephews Robert, Dan and James.
He was preceded in death by his parents Conrad and Grace, brother Oscar, and nephews Kenny and Tommy.
The family will greet friends and loved ones at a viewing on Sunday, June 28th from 5 to 7 pm. Services will be held on Monday, June 29th at 10:30 am - both events at Dakan Funeral Chapel in Caldwell. A private interment will take place at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery.
