Janice Fay (Borchert) Schaefer
May 4, 1950 - March 17, 2017
Janice Fay (Borchert) Schaefer, of Nampa, Idaho passed away Friday March 17, 2017 at the age of 66. Janice was the third child of Walter and Echo Borchert, born in Caldwell, Idaho. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Vallivue High School in 1968.
She met Charles (Chuck) Schaefer in May of 1972 and were married August 19, 1972 at Zion Lutheran Church and enjoyed over 44 years of marriage. They lived in Nampa where they raised their three daughters Melissa, Melinda and Amanda.
Janice was a stay at home mother until her youngest daughter was in sixth grade at which time she started working for Honstead Motors in Nampa. She was later employed by Edmark Motors, Simplots, Adamson Well Drilling, ABC Well Drilling and Pump, and finally Caldwell Lateral Irrigation District before retiring in May 2015.
As her children were growing up she was involved in Girl Scouts as a parent helper and later as a co-leader for a girl scout troop with Jane Moore and Diane Dick. Janice loved to teach the preschool Sunday school classes at church because she loved to be around the little ones. Her organization skills were known by many and loved to scrapbook memories. Janice and her husband were always delivering meals to those who needed it, sometimes when they did not realize they needed it.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Melissa Schaefer-Farris. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Charles (Chuck) Schaefer, mother in law Alice Schaefer, children Melinda (Thomas) Chynoweth, Amanda Loman, her grandchildren Ryker Loman, Mackenzie Loman, Avery Chynoweth, Jackson Chynoweth and Zoey Chynoweth.
