Jeanette L Harris
January 28,1933 - May 28, 2017
Jeanette Harris, formerly of Baton Rouge, Louisiana passed away peacefully Sunday morning May 28th at Sunny Ridge Care Center in Nampa, Idaho. Jeanette was the baby of Edward and Edna LeJuene's seven children born on January 28, 1933. Jeanette lived the majority of her life in Louisiana and was a true Cajun lady. In 2003 she decided to move to Idaho and settle here. While you can take the lady out of Louisiana you can't take the Louisiana out of the lady. She continued to enjoy cooking her Cajun cuisine for her friends and family here in Idaho.
Jeanette loved to travel the world. She would travel for almost any reason, but her favorites were her many international and domestic vacations with her children, exciting adventures with friends, and her many Work and Witness trips. She also took a cherished solo trip to Africa. After moving to Idaho, most of her travel involved trips with her beloved singing group, "Grace Notes."
Some of the most beautiful memories she made in Idaho were with her Nieces and Nephew, the Luckey family. They spent countless hours traveling with her, visiting her, including her in all family activities and caring for her until her final days. She loved and appreciated them more than they will ever know and her children are eternally grateful for the tender love and care shown to their mom.
Jeanette was a woman of great faith and she walked in that faith daily. The joy she felt in her life was apparent by the smile on her face that remained until her final day. That smile and her silly sense of humor will be sorely missed by her two sons Ron Spell of Austin, Texas, Keith Spell and wife Roxie of New Port Richey, Florida and her daughter Desha Harris of Houston, Texas. She also had one granddaughter, Katie Spell, along with four generations of nieces and nephews.
The Lord has called her home to join her sister and brothers and we find great peace in the knowledge that she is reunited with all of them once again
The celebration of her life will be held on Monday, June 5 at Canyon Hill Nazarene Church in Caldwell, ID at 11 AM.
