Jeffrey Dana Pence
November 14, 1960 - September 21, 2015
Jeffrey Dana Pence, 54, of Nampa, passed away of cancer while traveling to New Hampshire to live with his brother, James Pence. Jeff was born in Dover, New Hampshire and moved to Southern California as a child. Jeff loved seafood and was looking forward to New Hampshire with its beauty, history and food. At 15, Jeff's family moved to Nampa where he attended Nampa High. Jeff enjoyed fishing the Snake River and camping at numerous Idaho lakes. Jeff lived 40 years in Nampa. Jeff worked as a talented house painter, landscaping and lawn care. Jeff was also a custodian for the Caldwell School District. The past several years, Jeff drove or frequently walked his familiar loop of miles to spend time with his friends and family. Jeff enjoyed helping others. Always willing to lend a hand, he would happily and tirelessly work for those he cared for or others who asked. It was Jeff's amazing work ethic that impressed people most. Jeff tended the gardens of the elderly so they would have fresh vegetables, favorite flowers or mowed their lawn. He also did this for his mother. He even shared his passion for gardening with his neighbors by creating numerous hanging planters of flowers throughout his apartment building so that everyone could enjoy them. Jeff is also remembered for his creativity for cooking and making meals for his friends and family. He was the kind of cook that could open a cupboard and make something special out of anything. Because Jeff lived a quiet and modest life, some would presume his passing would remain unnoticed, yet like fishermen who depend each day on the incoming tide to provide a daily catch, Jeff 's friends and family will miss his presence they depended on and were blessed by his hard work. Jeff will be remembered and dearly loved by his friends and his family. Jeff is survived by his mother, Marjorie Fitch of Meridian, brothers: James Pence of Pittsfield, New Hampshire and Brian Pence of St. Louis, Missouri. Jeff is preceded in death by his sister, Debra Rivera, father George Pence and step-father David Morey. Services: Cremation and ashes to be spread in NH per Jeff's wishes during family memorial.
