Karen Jane Heidebrecht
October 21, 1939 - May 12, 2016
Karen (Peterson) Heidebrecht died peacefully surrounded by family in Boise, Idaho on May 12, 2016. She was born in Little River, Kansas to Mauritz and Edna Peterson on October 21, 1939. She rode on horseback to school with brother Kermit during her grade school years and graduated from Little River High School in 1957.
After High School, she went to work in McPherson, Kansas for Farmers Alliance and in 1958 she met husband, Richard Heidebrecht. They had four children- Lori, Ron, Brian and Rene. She moved to Nampa, Idaho when her children graduated from college. While in Nampa, ID she worked for Roundtree Motors, Dennis Dillon, Tom Scott Honda, Love Trailers, and Agri-Lines.
She shared her gift of accounting and finance by assisting individuals at Love, INC with budget counseling. She was very proud of each graduate of the counseling program and attended each graduation ceremony.
Karen was a huge fan of Boise State Football. She also enjoyed cross stitch, bridge, golf, quilting and reading many books. She volunteered at the Nampa Civic Center frequently and enjoyed her time with the friends she developed there.
She enjoyed traveling to see her children and visits from her children and grand-children. She is survived by her children Lori Lockert, Federal Way, WA; Ron Heidebrecht (Marci) Hillsboro, KS; Brian Heidebrecht (Tiffani), Southlake, TX; Rene Holder (Brian) The Woodlands, TX. She is survived by her sister Doris (Harold) Schulz, Fallbrook, CA and brother Kermit Peterson, Donnelly, ID. She was also survived by 10 grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins scattered from Texas, Kansas, Washington and California. She was preceded in death by her father, mother and brother Lloyd Peterson.
There will be a celebration of life at The Goldcrest Clubhouse at 722 N. Cambridge, Nampa, ID 83651 on Saturday, May 21st from 1-3 pm. Light refreshments will be served. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Love, Inc. of Treasure, Valley, ID.
